The trails around Nanaimo don’t maintain themselves—they’re the result of consistent care, community effort, and a shared commitment to the land.
This summer, the Nanaimo Mountain Bike Club is hiring three Park Maintenance Workers to join our Trail Crew through the Canada Summer Jobs program.
This is an opportunity to step behind the scenes and contribute directly to the trails you ride.
About the Roles
Trail Crew members will work across Nanaimo’s trail network, supporting essential maintenance and light construction. This includes:
- Maintaining and improving trail surfaces
- Supporting basic structure upkeep
- Safely using hand tools and personal protective equipment
The work takes place in foot-access trail environments, often in challenging terrain and variable weather conditions. It’s physical, hands-on, and grounded in real-world stewardship.
What You’ll Gain
This role is designed for youth looking to build practical experience in:
- Trail building and maintenance
- Environmental stewardship
- Team-based outdoor work
- Responsibility and worksite safety
Whether you’re interested in recreation, forestry, land management, or just want to spend your summer outside doing meaningful work, this is a strong foundation.
