Partnerships are about more than logos.
They’re about people choosing to invest in the community they care about.
For a number of years, Black Cat Studios has helped produce apparel for NMBC events and initiatives. This year, we’re excited to continue that relationship through our partnership on the Murderhorn Maiden and, more recently, through our Dig Day volunteer apparel program.
Trail building and stewardship are at the heart of mountain biking. The trails we ride don’t maintain themselves. They exist because generations of volunteers have given their time, energy, and skills to build, repair, and care for them.
Giving back to the trails was once deeply embedded in mountain bike culture. While that spirit has never disappeared, this year we’re making a conscious effort to strengthen it and help build the next generation of trail stewards in Nanaimo.

That’s where partnerships like Black Cat Studios matter.

Through our Dig Day apparel program, we’re able to recognize and thank the volunteers who show up to give back to the trails. Whether it’s someone’s first dig day or their twentieth, every contribution matters. Every hour helps. Every shovel moved, drain cleared, and section of trail repaired makes a difference for the entire riding community.
Volunteer recognition isn’t about a free shirt. It’s about creating a culture where people feel welcomed, appreciated, and connected to something bigger than themselves.
Mountain biking has always been built by community. The trails, events, and experiences we enjoy today exist because people cared enough to get involved. We want more people to discover that side of the sport—to see that stewardship is just as much a part of mountain biking as riding itself.
We’re grateful to Black Cat Studios for helping us celebrate the people who make that possible and for continuing to invest in the mountain bike community here in Nanaimo.
