Recognizing Kevin Brown: Trail Builder & Former NMBC Director

The NMBC would like to formally recognize Kevin Brown for his many years of service volunteering for the Nanaimo Mountain Bike Club. Kevin began as a treasurer in 2008 before assisting in the creation of the Trail Committee in 2011. From 2011 – 2018 he served as the Trails Director, eventually sharing the role with Dave Silver from 2015 – 2018. He represented Nanaimo and the NMBC at the 2016┬áMountain Bike Tourism Symposium and has served as an ambassador for the club throughout the community, as well as to athletes, colleagues, governing officials, and the private sector.

Just some of the projects that saw completion under Kevin’s direction are:

  • Legalize It trail system around Westwood Lake
  • Fine and Finer China
  • Doumon┬áTrail Mangement Agreement
  • Outer Bypass Corridor Project
  • General maintenance and development of Nanaimo’s entire trail network.

Although Kevin no longer serves on the Board of Directors, he’s still actively involved with the Trail Committee and still contributes to the organization in many ways.

Thank you, Kevin, for your many years of service!
