TRAIL NETWORK
DOUMONT
AUTHORIZED TRAIL NETWORK
Doumont is (arguably) where mountain biking began in Nanaimo. Many of the original wooden structures of the early 2000s can be found tucked in the woods alongside the road, reminiscent of the early origins of freeride.
Today, Doumont is a recreational hub for hikers, dog walkers, and cyclists alike. The network includes something for every skill level, from fast and flowy to technical gnar.

WESTWOOD LAKE
PARTIALLY AUTHORIZED TRAIL NETWORK
Westwood Lake features a double-wide multi-use trail that’s one of the city’s best places to go for a casual walk with a friend or train for your next 5 km race. Beyond the main path lies a plethora of trails, nestled beneath a dense tree canopy that’s shielded from the elements.
This area is only partially authorized. There’s a lot to be explored, but please be aware that you’re riding at your own risk.
